MOTORISTS plying Asaba-Benin highway were stranded as protesting students blocked the road by the Asaba-end of the bridge, thus causing a gridlock that lasted several hours, Wednesday,  morning. The scene was similar to the protest staged by physically- challenged persons sometime ago on the same stretch of the highway.

The Lagos State Government on Wednesday said it decided to intervene in the management of the Lekki-Epe Expressway in order to have total control of the toll rates being charged users of the road. Although it said the concessionaire, Lekki Construction Company, would still be involved in the management of the road, the government would solely fund the completion of the project and determine the toll rates, having bought back the rights of the company.

Nigeria’s craziest comedian Owen Osemwegie aka  Owen Gee  started off as a musical act. Whilst performing on stage with his group, the audience teased and booed at them.  He asked the DJ to stop the music and started throwing words at the audience. Controversy surrounding the management of the Lekki-Epe Expressway took a new turn on Tuesday as the Lagos State Government announced the termination of its concession agreement with the Lekki Concession Company.
