         The National Deputy Chief Medical Doctor in Liberia, Abraham Borbor, has died from the Ebola virus disease despite taking the experimental drug, ZMapp. Late Dr. Borbor contracted the deadly virus while attending to Ebola patients at the John F. Kennedy Medical Centre in Monrovia. Liberia's Minister of Information Lewis Brown announced his death to reporters in Monrovia this morning and said the late doctor was improving as at yesterday August 24th but suddenly took ill and died.

           Nigerian striker Asisat Oshoala (pictured above) was voted the Most Valuable Player/Best Player at the 2014 FIFA U20 World Cup in Canada.        According to a LIB reader who is at the scene, a policeman this morning shot dead an Okada rider. He said his body is still lying on the road and has caused serious traffic along Badore Road in Ajah. He said he got there after the altercation and shooting had occurred so does not know what happened but will find out. Details later...

              The deputy Governor of Enugu state,  Sunday  Onyebuchi this morning August 13th slumped before the impeachment panel set up to investigate allegations of gross misconduct and unlawful rearing of chickens in his official residence leveled against him by the State House of Assembly. According to Vanguard, the Deputy governor arrived the panel sitting at about  9am  in company of his wife Mrs Nneka Onyebuchi, his children as well as his legal team. He began his testimony in front of the panel around  9.30am  but three hours later, around 11.35am, he slumped and was immediately rushed out of the premises to the hospital where he is receiving treatment.

      Some private hospitals in Lagos yesterday Tuesday August 12th rejected treating patients who visited them with symptoms of fever as part of measures being taking to prevent contracting the Ebola virus.  A visit by the News Agency of Nigeria to some hospitals in Lagos Metropolis showed that nurses and other health workers, including cleaners were seen wearing face mask and gloves while attending to patients.

          The Abuja Minister, Bala Mohammed, has designated the General Hospital, Kuje, in Kuje Area Council, as Isolation Centre for possible Ebola-infected persons. The minister also inaugurated a 25-member committee to work out modalities for responding to the threat of Ebola virus and create awareness on the nature and symptoms of the virus.           The 75 year old Spanish priest who was infected with the Ebola virus in Liberia and evacuated to Spain to get better treatment has died, a Madrid spokeswoman from Madrid Health authorities said this morning. Fr. Miguel Pajares, who was airlifted from Liberia on August 7 after contracting the disease while working for a non-governmental organization in the African country started using the experimental drug, Zmapp last Saturday 9th August but sadly lost the battle to the deadly virus. He was being treated at Carlos III hospital Madrid where he had been quarantined since his return from Liberia. This will be the first European that has died from the recent outbreak of the deadly virus.

The Liberian president, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, announced yesterday that their country is to receive sample doses of experimental drug, ZMapp to treat doctors infected with Ebola A statement published on Mrs Sirleaf's website on Monday said the US had approved a request from Liberia to ship the medicine after a direct appeal to US President Barack Obama on Friday. But spokesperson for the US Health and Human Services (HHS) Department said US authorities had simply assisted in connecting the Liberian government with the drug's manufacturer, insisting that the drug company had worked directly with the Liberian government. Meanwhile the deaths from Ebola has passed the 1,000 mark. Late yesterday, the World Health Organization said 1,013 people have now died from Ebola.

In the report, it was claimed that their wedding venue cost between N1.5million to N3million. Simi’s  engagement ring  cost a staggering N1.3million. Her Melange white gold wedding band cost N2.2m. Her wedding gown cost N500k. Dr Sid's Tom Ford cost N650k. The wedding company paid N6m. Wedding venue decoration supposedly cost N2m, while the wedding cake cost N2m. The food and drinks reportedly cost N2m. DJs, and security cost about N2.5m...etc etc... But Dr Sid took to  twitter  to dismiss the claims.
