Michael Jackson's estate warns 'shameful' Conrad Murray

Doctor Conrad Murray has been warned by the estate of Michael Jackson to 'stop talking' about the Thriller star, or face legal action, following a recent media tour

Since his release from prison after serving two years for the involuntary manslaughter of the King of Pop, Conrad Murray has embarked on a media tour.

But now the estate of Michael Jackson has slapped Conrad Murray with a threatening legal letter, ordering the doctor to stop talking about the late pop star.

The angry ‘cease and desist’ letter demands that the Thriller singer’s former doctor stop giving interviews to media, or face legal action

‘Your recent comments to the media about Mr. Jackson’s medical treatment and ultimate death shamefully violate the physician-patient privilege under California law,’ said Jackson attorney Howard Weitzman in the letter dated November 26.

The letter also calls Murray ‘cowardly’ for not taking the stand in the involuntary manslaughter trial.
During the trial in 2011, Murray was sentenced to four years in imprisonment for involuntary manslaughter after he gave Michael Jackson the powerful surgical anesthetic drug propofol, believed to be the cause of his death.

In the letter, Weitzman writes, ‘Your interviews about Mr. Jackson’s personal life, health, and recent stories about the medical treatment you supposedly provided him as a ‘friend,’ disclose precisely the type of information that the physician-patient privilege is designed to protect.’


The Estate says it will sue Conrad Murray if he continues to talk, and will advise any medical board where he may try to get his medical license reinstated that he’s breached physician-patient privilege.

Murray’s medical licenses in California and Nevada had already been suspended following his arrest, and the State of Texas officially revoked Murray's license in August. The doctor has stated that he does wish to return to practicing medicine.

Conrad Murray was released from the Los Angeles Men's Central Jail in October 2013, two years after he was convicted. He has since embarked on a media tour, speaking openly about treating Jackson.

He said 'No, I didn't kill Michael. He did it himself... with a massive overdose using his own stash'. In the compelling exclusive interview, Murray revealed for the first time about his intimate friendship with Jackson, saying, ‘you want to know how close we were? I held his penis every night to fit a catheter because he was incontinent at night.’
