Lecturer's home in massive explosion while she's on holiday in Crete

'My house has exploded, I am homeless': College lecturer's Facebook update after her bungalow is 'smashed to smithereens' in gas explosion while she is on holiday
College lecturer Michele Wright, 49, (inset, centre) was telephoned by police while she was in Crete who told her: 'Sorry, but your house has exploded'. Her £250,000 dormer bungalow in Beulah, Cardiganshire, south Wales, (pictured top right before the explosion) was completely destroyed in the blast and debris was scattered 100ft down the road. Firemen believe there was a build up of gas in the property - possibly after an appliance was left on when Mrs Wright went away ten days ago.
